About
Every Decision
is Legible.
Built without Shortcuts
CYVV Architectural Design is the practice of Yi-Wei Chiou — an architect working across residential and commercial typologies with a focus on concept-forward work. Every project begins as a question of identity: what does this space need to say, and what decisions make that legible?
The studio operates without shortcuts. From first sketch to final permit, the same person draws the line and defends it. Concept informs every phase, or we go back to the drawing.
How we Think and work
A building is a diagram of decisions.
Here is how we make them.

Listen
Site, program, constraints, ambition. Before any drawing, we understand what the project actually needs — not just what was asked for.
The brief is a starting point, not a ceiling.
Concept
Spatial direction, massing, key moves. This is where the building's identity gets established. Concept comes before compliance — parameters are constraints to solve within, not a substitute for design intent.
Concept before compliance.
Development
Preliminary layouts, coordination, code review. Translating concept into something buildable. Every decision made in this phase traces back to Phase 02 — or we go back.
Every decision is traceable.
Delivery
Construction documents, permitting, consultant coordination. The concept holds through final permit, or it wasn't a concept — it was a sketch.
Every line has a reason, and by this phase, all of them are documented.
